Sète is a commune in the Hérault department in Languedoc-Roussillon in southern France brothers Richard and Hervé Di Rosa.
The site of Sete is wonderful, it encircles a lone hill, the Mont St-Clair, on the otherwise flat Languedoc coast but Sete it is all-but an island. At the front lies the sea of course and behind, is the Thau lagoon which is a vast expanse of salt water, colonised by oyster- and mussel-beds. Between the two, a network of canals brings the scramble of port and fishing activity right into the town centre..
Known as the Venice of Languedoc and the singular island it is a port and a sea-side resort on the Mediterranean Sea with its own very strong cultural identity, traditions, cuisine and dialect. Sete is also the hometown of artists like Paul Valéry, Jean Vilar, Georges Brassens, Manitas de Plata, and Robert Combas, but also sculptor Pierre Nocca.
