Richards Bay is a town in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It is situated on a large lagoon of the Mhlatuze River, which makes it one of the country's largest harbours. The town was originally a makeshift harbour set up by a commodore of the Cape, Sir Frederick Richards.
