Narvik is located along the southern shore of the Ofat Fjord in the Ofoten district of Norway. The city was originally founded in 1902 and was an important part of the exportation of Iron ore. During World War II the city was scene of fierce battles between allied and German Forces and the history of this is shown in the War Memorial Museum.
Another thing to do in Narvik is take a cablecar to the top of Fagernesfjellet where you will get fabulous views over Narvik and the surrounding areas.
