The city was almost completely rebuilt after world war two with new temples and churches along with many memorial structures. Nagasaki is the best natural harbour on the island of Kyushu with the city straddling two rivers at the base of mountainous terrain. The city itself fits into an area of 4 square miles.
The climate in Nagasaki is very humid and sub-tropical. Along with memorials and museums relating to the cities dark past there are many things to explore from botanical gardens to the city’s famous sea life centre. Excellent panoramic views of the city and its surrounding area can be enjoyed from the many panoramic vantage points in the surround hillside.
