Molde is a city and municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, the municipality is located on the Romsdal Peninsula, surrounding the Fannefjord, it is located on the northern shore of the Romsdalsfjord.
The Molde area is known for the Trollstigen Mountain Road, the Atlantic Road. The Trollstigen Mountain Road twists through 11 hairpin bends as it climbs up to Stigrøra, in some places it is cut into the mountain; in others it is built on top of stone walls. Eikesdalen Valley with its dramatic nature, and the Mardalsfossen Waterfall that cascades 297 metres down into the valley, making it the fourth highest waterfall, are both impressive sights. The cathedral, which was consecrated in 1957, is a double-nave long church in the Gothic style. A 50-metre-high freestanding bell tower culminates in a copper-clad pyramid. The interior of the church contains some lovely stained glass and is richly decorated with Christian symbols. Varden is 407 meters above sea level, the very best views will come only when you reach the very top. The entire 222 peaks can be seen here, this is called the Molde Panorama.
