Djúpivogur is a small town and municipality located on a peninsula in eastern Iceland, near the island of Papey. Djúpivogur is a typical small Icelandic fishing village on the east coast of Iceland. Fish production and tourism are the main trades of the people. Djupivogur offers easy access to Vatnajokull, the biggest glacier in Europe, and East Iceland. The village is situated in the commune Hornafjörður with around 2200 inhabitants.
