There is no better way to discover the famous Delta region than with this half day tour to Tigre. Soak in its natural beauty and discover the way the locals lead their lives.

Travel along the Avenida Costanera which lies parallel to the Rio de la Plata. An estuary made up from the Uruguay and Parana River. A perfect place to capture the views of this spectacularly vast river.

Our first stop will be the most affluent neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, San Isidro. Roughly 28km from the city of Buenos Aires. Here you will take in the beautiful Cathedral de San Isidro and the magnificent homes of the former 'portena', families of aristocracy.

Constructed in Neogothic style by French architects, the Cathedral de San Isidro stands 223 ft tall with its base the shape of the Latin cross.

Hop back onto the bus to travel on to Tigre where you will be able to explore the Delta with a relaxing trip on a catamaran. Being the gateway to the Rivers and wetlands of this vast delta, Tigre is the ideal place for your adventure. With the towns old fruit harbour now a busy craft market, you will get a real sense of local craft work and sense the local way of life.

Embark the Catamaran to take your 40-minute journey over the waters of the Delta soaking in the atmosphere. See the little islands where the rivers and streams flow around each other.  See how the lush green land has been divided into hundreds of islands by the veins of water flowing in all avenues.

The Delta is still today a hive of activity with its hops, river taxis, floating boats and rafts allowing you to notice the difference in lifestyle that has evolved and adapted to every changing condition.

Coming close to the end of your boat trip you will get the chance to pass the houses built on stilts over the water’s edge and the house turned museum of the former president, Sarmiento. Dated back to 1860, he named the house "Procida" after the small island off the coast of Naples, Italy. Today the house is now encased in a glass box for protection, which this can be viewed from the waters.

At the end of your boat trip you will begin your journey towards the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires where you will have free time to explore on you own before making your own way back to the Cruise Ship.

Please Note: This tour does not include drop-off at the pier, A taxi back to the cruise pier takes approximately 10 minutes and cost around $8 USD per taxi, this is not included in the cost or  approximately a 20 minute walk.
