Itinerary

When does my tour start?

This is a Private Tour

During this 3.5-hour Shore Excursion, you will enjoy a scenic drive through Punta Del Este’s most interesting beaches and neighbourhoods, plus visit two unique art collections.

Punta del Este is known as a world class summer resort, but it is a well-kept secret, known only to a select few, that there are troves of art and architecture hidden within its natural beauties. Driving from the harbor to the east, you will be able to see the Peninsula, Brava Beach, and the open air collection of sculptures at Square of the Americas.  Among which “The Hand" (Mario Yrarrázabal, Chile 1981) has become a city icon. You will see residential areas such San Rafael, Golf Park and Beverly Hills before arriving at The Ralli Museum, a pleasure for art lovers.

This museum, located in the emerald green setting of Beverly Hills, houses a collection of Latin American painters and sculptors work, as well as European artist’s works, such as Salvador Dali.  There is a hall dedicated to 16, 17, and 18th Century European paintings.

After a 45-minute visit to the Museum, we will take drive past other interesting areas, including: Indian Corner, and crossing the Twin Wavy bridges.  You have spectacular views at La Barra before you arrive at The Pablo Atchugarry Foundation.

Pablo Atchugarry was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1954. After several visits to Europe, he became fascinated by the possibilities offered by Carrara marble for the creation of massive, yet ethereal, sculptures.  Atchugarry, has held more than 80 solo as well as 80 collective exhibitions worldwide. His works are at many major collections, both public and private, whilst in the city of Lecco (Italy) he has his own museum. In July 2002 he received the Michelangelo Award, in recognition of his lifelong artistic achievement. In 2003 he represented Uruguay at the 50th Biennale in Venice with an installation of 11 monumental sculptures. Atchugarry is presently working on a monumental sculpture entitled Cosmic Embrace standing 8.6 meter’s high which will be placed in a public space in Belgium.

The Pablo Atchugarry Foundation is a non-profit institution to promote the arts. You will see the buildings in the compound, including: The Artist’s Workshop, another building with three exhibition halls, an Auditorium for concerts and lectures, and a one that houses the permanent collection and works of the artist.  All of these are surrounded by the Park of Sculptures, 15 hectares of natural settings to enjoy large works made out of steel, concrete, wood, iron and marble by Uruguayan as well as foreign artists
