Depart pier to Pinang Peranakan Mansion, also known as the Baba Nyonya Museum, once home and ancestral hall of Chung Keng Kwee, Kapitan China of Perak and a Hakka mine-owner.  Displayed in this 19th century-old townhouse of eclectic design and architecture, are an extensive collection of Straits Chinese or Baba Nyonya antiques.

Continue drive along the scenic north coast calling at a handicraft factory for demonstration of Malaysian Batik printing with wax and dyes. Turning inland, wind through durian, clove and nutmeg plantations and stop at a farmer’s fruit stall. In the countryside, see quaint Malay kampongs.

After a photo stop, drive to Penang’s famous Snake Temple. This temple is dedicated to the deity Chor Soo Kong, and attracts throngs of devotees from far and wide who come to offer prayers especially on the 6th day of Chinese New Year, which is also known as Chor Soo Kong’s birthday. Chor Soo Kong is regarded as a protector of jungle snakes, and upon establishment of the temple in the mid-19th century, snakes of the pit viper specie have appeared within the temple building, appearing to seek refuge at the shrine which bears a popular name in reference to these serpentine.

Enroute back to pier, catch a glimpse of the Penang Bridge, the longest bridge in South-East Asia connecting Penang Island to the mainland.

    Local Dress Code: Malaysia is hot and humid, we recommend to dress comfortably in lightweight clothing. It is a modern nation with a mix of ethnic groups and religions. Remove shoes before entering mosques and Hindu and Buddhist temples; in mosques, women should cover their heads, shoulders and legs and men should wear long trousers. No sleeveless blouse/t-shirt & short went visiting Hindu and Buddhist temples.
    What Should I take on my Tour: It is recommended to take sun cream and a sun hat, as at times on this excursion it can get unseasonably hot. It is also recommended to drink plenty of water. Please wear comfortable footwear for this excursion as there is some walking on uneven ground, inclines and steps. Also please don’t forget your fully charged camera, as we don’t want you to miss out on some wonderful memories.
