You will be met at the Port of Invergordon by your English Speaking Driver/Guide.
Your tour will start with a drive through the scenic Highlands including Beauly, with its stunning scenery. There will be plenty of Photo opportunities here.
You will then head towards the infamous Loch Ness for a chance to glimpse the Loch Ness Monster (perhaps!). Your first visit will be to the wonderful Urquhart Castle: a critical strategic stronghold in the highlands, positioned on the banks of Loch Ness, which would have been a main route through the Great Glen of the highlands. Its chequered history came to a dramatic demise in 1692 when the castle was blown up to stop it falling into Jacobite hands!
What remains are picturesque and impressive ruins, surrounded on three sides by the cold deep waters of Loch Ness.
Visit the Castle to learn of its dramatic history that dates back in written records to the 1200s, but in archaeology and folklore right back to the Iron Age and the Picts. Spend some time exploring at your leisure, souvenir shopping or taking wonderful photographs to savour those memories.
You will then take a scenic drive back to Invergordon in plenty of time to meet your ship
Itinerary
Entrance tickets to Urquhart Castle are included within the tour price.
This tour is scheduled to depart in the morning from the Port of Invergordon and will be adjusted to suit your cruise ship timings.
We recommend our customers to take a jacket with them as the highlands can sometimes drop in temperature
Plus, it is advisable to always wear comfortable and suitable shoes for walking.
