Itinerary

When does my tour start?

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Sundays - This tour has a start time of - 10:30am.

Fridays - Set start time of 10:30am or 13:00 - until 31st May 2019

Saturdays - Set start time of 1300hrs

When do I return to port after my tour/excursion?

The tour is 3 hours in length so you will be returned in plenty of time for your cruise ship departure. All tour times are based on Shore time (i.e. local time, - not ship time)

You will be met at the port by a Cruising Excursions representative who will guide you to your air conditioned transportation.

Departing the pier, we will make stops at the historic forts of Fincastle, a small fort shaped like a paddle-wheel streamer.  The fort was built to protect Nassau from invaders, but it never saw warfare.  At this location we will have time to explore the fort, the Queen Victoria Staircase, light shopping on your own and also photo opportunities.

We will then travel along Bay Street, the heart of Nassau's shopping district, and home to the native Straw Market.  Other highlights include views of the Government House (official residence of teh Governor General of the Bahamas since 1801) the Govenor's Mansion and Gregory's Arch.  This stone arch was named after Governor John Gregory who served around 1850.  When we pass through the arch on Market Street, we cross the line that divides downtown Nassau from the rest of the country.

Next we travel to Paradise Island and island connected to a New Providence by two bridges that cross Nassau Harbour.  Hog Island Lighthouse, constructed 1817, is at the western tip of the island and can be seen from the cruise port.

The highlight of Paradise Island is world famous Atlantis.  Atlantis is a magnificent resort with over 3,000 hotel rooms, 20 restaurants, a wide variety of stores, a 123-acre water park, beautiful beaches and the largest casino in the Bahamas.  The total cost to construct Atlantis was over $2 billion.  The tour will make a short stop at Atlantis where we have free time to explore the amazing lobby, casino, or the shops.  After the free time we leave to return back to the cruise ship.

For those who wish to see more of Atlantis, there are a variety of options available for purchase at the resort.  The 'Discover Atlantis Beach Pass' (adults $69, children $40) provides access to the aquarium, the beach, restaurants where you can purchase food and drink and entrance to the Dig, a maze of interconnected tunnels and chambers with ruins and underwater inhabitants depicting the Lost City of Atlantis.  The 'Aquaventure Pass' (adults $130, children $80) provides access to the aquarium, beach, pools, water slides, the Dig and restaurants where you can purchase food and drink.  Those customers choosing to purchase either of these packages, or spend more time exploring Atlantis, will want to stay at the resort longer than the tour stop.

Guests wishing to end their tour at Atlantis, will need to arrange a taxi back to the ship at their own expense.  There are many taxis available at Atlantis and the approximate cost of the ride to the ship pier is $5 per person.  It will be your responsibility to make sure you are back to the cruise ship on time.  The Discover Atlantis Beach and Aquaventure Pass are subject ot availability and prices are approximate (arranged locally).
