Walking Tour
Tour Ends in Cementario de la Recoleta

You will be met at the cruise port by a Cruising Excursion representative to begin your tour.

This small group walking tour will begin in the Plaza San Martin, the oldest square within the city. After crossing the square, you will experience the Metro to take you over to the Obelisco. Located in the Plaza de la Republica this is a national historic monument and a symbol of Buenos Aires itself.

Get a glimpse of what life looks like for local people and make your way down the avenida 9 de julio, the widest street in the world! See its historical buildings, monuments and discover how its streets reveal the story of the city and its growth over the years.

Continue to the avenido Diagnal Norte, a crucial link between judicial and government power in its uniting of the Corte Suprema de Justicia and Casa Rosada, the executive mansion and office of the President of Argentina.

Step into the Plaza de Mayo, Buenos Aires main square and the political heart of Argentina. Here we will visit the Cathedral Metropolitan, the main Catholic church in the city and see the Cabilo, Ayuntamiento Colonial and Casa Rosada, the core of governmental power.

From the south side of Plaza de Mayo we will meander down the arterial road, Calle Defensa( Defense street) to the very heart of San Telmo. With its pop-up art galleries, street murals and late-night bars it gives San Telmo an upbeat Bohemian vibe.  One of the oldest barrios in Buenos Aires this lively area boats a vibrant Tango and artistic scene.

Known locally as Faroles, the street lanterns litter the streets of the antiques markets. With its cobble streets, old fashioned buildings and original decor you can see just how San Telmo gets its unique bohemian atmosphere.  The famous street market is at its busiest on a Sunday. Here you will be able to see the Plaza Dorrego , its main focal point , really come to life!

Our tour then moves onto the bus to take you over to the La Boca neighbourhood. With a strong European flavour this town is the home to Boca Juniors stadium and the vibrant Caminito. Translated from Spanish meaning 'little path'. Be captivated by what this area is best known for, the many different versions of street Tango! Learn about how to Tango, local football and other immigrant influences that inspired and shaped Buenos Aires into one of the most enticing and intricate cities in the world.

From the bus you will be able to marvel at the sights at Puerto Madero and the Puerta de la Mujer. Home to some of the most modern Skyscrapers and the rotating footbridge.  Continue your journey to the sophisticated Recoleta. Known for its cemetary, Cementerio de Recoleta. Here you will find the final resting place of many notable people such as Eva Peron, Argentinian presidents, Nobel prize winners and the granddaughter of Napoleon. Here you will encounter its incredible architecture, countless museums, chic cafes and restaurants, exclusive streets and shopping centres.

Your tour will come to an end at the Cementario de la Recoleta. With its frequent and low-priced transport links readily accessible, you will be able to enjoy a little more of the city at your own leisure should you wish before making your own way back to the cruise port. (payable locally).

Enjoy a personal and unique experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

Make sure to bring your camera to capture new places off the beaten track!
